Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Poland Ha Hoang Hai expressed his deep emotion and acknowledged the great contributions of architect Kazimierz Kwiatkowski in preserving historical relics in Hoi An, My Son Sanctuary, Hue ancient capital, and other sites in Viet Nam, helping to promote them and contributing to their inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List, as well as strengthening the friendship between Viet Nam and Poland.
Ambassador Ha Hoang Hai stated that Polish architect Kazimierz Kwiatkowski, known to Vietnamese people as “Kazik”, left an “invaluable legacy” for Viet Nam, noting that to this day, Vietnamese people still remember “Kazik” with affection and admiration. He also expressed his wish that the memory of “Kazik” lives forever in the hearts of the peoples of Viet Nam and Poland.
At the ceremony, in a solemn and warm atmosphere, Ambassador Ha Hoang Hai presented the Friendship Order of the President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to the family representative — Professor Bartlomiej Kwiatkowski, son of late architect Kazimierz Kwiatkowski.
On behalf of the family of late architect Kazimierz Kwiatkowski, Professor Bartlomiej Kwiatkowski expressed his honour and deep gratitude for the Friendship Order bestowed by the State of Viet Nam — a prestigious award recognising the contributions of the late architect to the preservation of historical relics in Viet Nam; and conveyed his thanks to the Embassy of Viet Nam in Poland for organising the solemn ceremony.
