According to Le Quang Tung, NA Secretary General and Head of the NA Office, to date, seven out of the 24 planned activities have already been completed either on time or ahead of schedule. These include the launch of a song writing competition focused on the NA and People’s Councils, the “Return to the Roots – Towards the Future” programme in Tuyen Quang Province, and intergenerational meetings of NA deputies held across various localities.
Seventeen activities remain, including the official ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of the first general election; the compilation of a commemorative book entitled ‘Viet Nam National Assembly – 80 Years of Establishment, Renovation, and Development’; a seminar exploring the NA’s 80-year history; the construction of the Viet Nam National Assembly Museum; the production of documentary films; a bilingual photo exhibition; and an arts programme to honour the occasion.
Speaking at the meeting, NA Vice Chair Nguyen Khac Dinh commended the NA Office for its meticulous planning and the effective collaboration among relevant agencies in executing the completed tasks.
He called on all involved bodies to continue fostering coordination and accountability to ensure the timely completion of all remaining activities and the successful organisation of the anniversary ceremony.
He emphasised that the event holds profound political and historical significance, symbolising the stature, resilience, and proud legacy of the Vietnamese National Assembly over eight decades of development.
