The event was jointly held by the Co To district People’s Committee, Thien Minh Group, and Vietrace365 JSC.
Themed ‘Imprints of a green island’, the event featured four categories of 5km, 10km, 21km, and 42km. The track was designed to run along the beautiful beaches, primaeval forests, fishing villages, and popular tourist attractions on the island.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of Co To District People's Committee Do Huy Thong, who is also head of the event’s organising board, said that the event aimed to invite runners on a journey to explore the natural beauty, break their limits, and demonstrate their responsibility in protecting the environment.
It is also designed to promote physical activities and improve people’s physical health while advertising the image of Co To Island to visitors at home and abroad.
