NA Standing Vice Chairman Do Van Chien urges Bac Ninh to become centrally governed city before 2030

Bac Ninh Provincial People’s Council held a session on January 29 to review its activities during the 19th tenure (2021–2026). Politburo Member and National Assembly Standing Vice Chairman Do Van Chien attended and delivered a keynote address.

Addressing the meeting, National Assembly Standing Vice Chairman Do Van Chien emphasised that the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam had concluded with great success.

Thoroughly implementing the conclusions of the Politburo and the directives of General Secretary To Lam, Party committees, Party organisations, and cadres and Party members must urgently study, grasp, and effectively implement the resolutions, ensuring they are translated into real-life outcomes.

He urged Bac Ninh Province to promptly organise the study, dissemination, and implementation of the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the First Provincial Party Congress for the 2025–2030 term; to review and supplement action programmes in a timely manner; to focus on key priorities with clear task assignments and accountability, avoiding any shifting of responsibility; and to strive to fulfill monthly, annual, and entire-term targets

At the same time, the province was asked to adjust provincial and urban planning, synchronously implement solutions, programmes, and projects, and make the greatest possible efforts to achieve the goal of becoming a centrally governed city before 2030.

He also called on the province to closely adhere to legal regulations and approved plans, effectively carry out tasks to ensure the successful organisation of the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term, making the election truly a nationwide festival. Efforts should continue to strongly innovate the content and methods of operation of People’s Councils at provincial and commune levels to improve the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of elected bodies.

NA Standing Vice Chairman Do Van Chien also urged Party committees, authorities, the Viet Nam Fatherland Front, socio-political organisations, social organisations, and the business community in Bac Ninh to ensure that the Lunar New Year 2026 is celebrated joyfully, economically, safely, and inclusively, so that every household and every person can enjoy the festive season. Immediately after the holiday, all sectors should return to work with renewed momentum, motivation, and determination to achieve new successes.
