Nearly 9.3 trillion VND proposed to upgrade three national highways in Mekong Delta

The Department for Roads of Vietnam has submitted a project to the Ministry of Transport to upgrade three national highways No 53, No 62, and No 91B in the Mekong Delta.

The project is worth nearly 9.3 trillion VND (365.38 million USD), including 6.3 trillion VND in loans from the World Bank and over 3 trillion VND in corresponding capital from Vietnam.

According to the proposal, about 69km of Highway No.62 will be upgraded in Long An Province, while about 41km of Highway No.53 in Vinh Long and Tra Vinh will be improved. In addition, 141km of Highway No.91B in Can Tho will be expanded.

The upgraded sections have a width of 12m and allow a speed limit of 80km per hour.

The project is expected to be implemented over five years after the effectiveness of the funding agreement.
