Nghe An posts 32% rise in export revenue in nine months

The total import and export revenue of Nghe An Province reached about 2.33 billion USD in the first nine months of 2024, up 32% over the same period last year, equivalent to 84.58% of the yearly target.

Some commodities saw high growth in export turnover compared to the same period in 2023, such as footwear (up 88.1%), electronic equipment and components (84.4%), electric wires and cables (up 74.5%), textiles and garments (up 30.1%), and steel and iron of all kinds (up 29.2%). In addition, rice exports of Nghe An enterprises increased sharply by 75% over the corresponding period last year.

Nghe An enterprises exported goods to 142 countries and territories worldwide in the first nine months of 2024.

Export turnover to some markets expanded sharply compared to the same period, including Singapore, up 111.5%; Hong Kong (China), up 87.5%; Taiwan (China), up 68.4%; Germany, up 47.7%; Japan, up 28.8%; and the Republic of Korea, up 16.7%.

In the meantime, the import revenue was reported at 1.69 billion USD, up 73.51% over the same period in 2023.

The province is expected to gain a total export turnover of about 3.5 billion USD in 2024.

According to Nghe An’s Department of Industry and Trade leaders, the department has supported import and export enterprises in trade promotion activities, international trade connection conferences, and trade fairs to expand markets and boost exports in recent years.
