The participating teams include Henan (China), Aranmare (Japan), Kuanysh (Kazakhstan), Expressway (Republic of Korea), Paint Masters (Philippines), Korabelka (Russia), King Whale Taipei (Taiwan - China) and Vietnam.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, VTV Deputy General Director Do Thanh Hai said that over the past 17 tournaments, the VTV Cup has inspired a love for volleyball and sports for spectators and the TV audience.
Through the VTV Cup, the image of the Vietnamese country and its people has been widely promoted.
According to the organisers, all teams bring their best players to the tournament, promising to create exciting matches.
Following the first time in 2013, this is the second time that Ninh Binh Province has hosted the VTV International Women’s Volleyball Cup.
The tournament will run until August 31.
