Northwestern provinces strengthen tourism development cooperation

On October 27, the tourism associations of four provinces including Son La, Hoa Binh, Dien Bien and Lai Chau, organised a conference and signed a memorandum of cooperation in tourism development in Moc Chau town, of the northern mountainous province of Son La.

At the conference, representatives of the tourism associations of the four provinces agreed that Son La, Hoa Binh, Dien Bien, and Lai Chau have many similarities in terms of geography, history and culture, which have advantages for tourism development.

Over the past years, the four provinces have united, made efforts to overcome difficulties, promoted internal resources, been proactive and creative, aroused potential and advantages for economic and social development and have achieved important accomplishments in many fields, which, tourism in the Northwest region is considered as one of the potential tourism markets of the country.

In particular, from the beginning of 2020 until now, in the context of the complicated developments of the COVID-19 epidemic, the provinces have successfully implemented the strategy of safe, flexible adaptation to and effective control of COVID-19. Production, business, service and tourism activities have been gradually restored and developed.

Therefore, the linkage and cooperation in tourism development between the four provinces are extremely practical, making an important contribution to creating a driving force to promote tourism development, in each locality in particular and the region in general.
