The Nguyen Van Linh Award, which was organised for the second time by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL), aims to honour trade union officials who had effective, creative initiatives and solutions to improve trade union operations, benefiting labourers and contributing to the development of localities, agencies and units.
Speaking at the ceremony, Politburo member, Secretary of Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation Truong Thi Mai highly valued the positive contributions of workers’ movements and trade unions across the country over the years.
She expressed her hope that the honoured officials will continue making further contributions in trade union activities.
Trade unions at all levels should pay greater attention to ensuring the legitimate rights and interest of their members, while showing strong performances as their representatives, she added.
