The announcement was made by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Bac Lieu Provincial People’s Committee at a press conference in Hanoi on December 16.
The festival will feature about 100 booths displaying salt products, OCOP products, and salt production and processing equipment and technology.
The event will also introduce salt and regional specialty salt products from various provinces, which is expected to boost the production, business, and income of salt producers.
The festival aims to honour, preserve, and develop the salt industry, thus raising the value of Vietnamese salt production overall, especially that of Bac Lieu, which is dubbed as the “salt capital” of Vietnam
The event also seeks to inspire younger generations with the knowledge and skills to engage in production, business, and entrepreneurship within the salt industry.
For Bac Lieu in particular, the festival provides an opportunity for the province to leave a good impression on residents and visitors while contributing to local economic, cultural, and social development.
