The head of the jury, artist Dang Xuan Hoa, said that “Dong chay” is a unique piece of material and expression, reflecting a new way of thinking in contemporary art while maintaining the spirit of painting.

In addition to the top prize awarded to Nguyen Viet Cuong's painting, the organisers also presented gold, silver, and bronze awards to artists Nguyen Van He (from Thua Thien Hue Province), Ngo Van Sac (Hanoi), and Le Viet Trung (Thua Thien Hue), respectively.

The highest "Emerging Artist" award was given to young female artist Phan Tu Tran from Ho Chi Minh City. In this category, two gold and silver awards were also given to young artists Nguyen Van Trinh (Hanoi) and Nguyen Duc Niem (Thua Thien Hue).

The seven award-winning works, along with over 30 paintings that reached the final round of the competition, will be displayed at the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts from October 5 to 20.
