The discussions focused on addressing the aftermath of storms, floods, and landslides; promoting production and business activities; creating jobs and livelihoods for residents; disbursing public investment capital; developing infrastructure and social housing; advancing campaigns to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing; managing import-export activities; implementing three national target programmes within the province; and fulfilling the conclusions outlined in notifications from the Government Office.

Quang Ninh Provincial leaders reported to Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh and the working delegation on the province's socio-economic development in the first nine months of 2024 and the efforts to recover from Typhoon No. 3.

Addressing the working session, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh commended Quang Ninh Province for its sense of responsibility, self-reliance, and resilience in proactively preventing, responding to, and swiftly addressing the aftermath of Typhoon No. 3. He praised the province's efforts to quickly restore normalcy to people's lives and resume production and business activities.

The province was also recognised for its serious and effective implementation of the Government’s Resolution No. 143, which focuses on addressing the consequences of Typhoon No. 3, providing urgent support to affected residents, and promoting post-disaster recovery, he added.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh highlighted Quang Ninh's achievements despite numerous challenges, particularly in the wake of the typhoon. He noted positive developments in socio-economic performance during the first nine months of the year, especially in tourism, manufacturing and processing industries, and construction.

The Deputy PM asked Quang Ninh Province to continue focusing on addressing the aftermath of Typhoon No. 3, particularly by implementing the measures outlined in the Government’s Resolution No.143 including restoring production, repairing houses and transportation infrastructure, and stabilising the lives of affected residents.

He also urged Quang Ninh Province to effectively implement national target programmes and key government policies to ensure social welfare as well as accelerating the disbursement of public investment funds, developing infrastructure, and enhancing competitiveness.

Deputy PM Binh encouraged the province to focus on advancing key economic sectors with significant growth potential, attracting more FDI projects, and improving the effectiveness of measures supporting businesses in production and operations.

Regarding the recommendations and proposals from the province, Deputy PM Nguyen Hoa Binh noted that central ministries and agencies will review and address the province's proposals as soon as possible, towards creating favourable conditions for Quang Ninh to fully achieve the goals for the entire term and continue to maintain its position as a comprehensive growth hub in the northern region.
