In 2013, his company launched Vincom Mega Mall Royal City, the largest underground retail and entertainment complex in the region as well as investing US$1 billion in tens of other real estate projects across Vietnam. Last year his company’s shares went up 15% .
Pham Nhat Vuong was born in 1968 in Hanoi. He founded an international food export company in Ukraine named LLC Technocom in 1993.
In early 2000, he began investing in Vietnam’s real estate market and founded Vinpearl Land (VPL) and the Vincom Joint Stock Company (VIC).
In 2012, Vinpearl was merged into Vincom to become Vingroup with charter capital of VND7,000 billion (US$329 million).
Billionaire Bill Gates ranks first in this year’s list with total assets of US$76 billion, followed by Carlos Slim Helu with US$ 72 billion.
