The Ho Chi Minh City team claimed the first place with 9,610 points, followed by Hanoi and Thanh Hoa with 7,854 and 5,886 points.
Speaking at the closing ceremony for the games, Vice Chairman of National Assembly Uong Chu Luu appreciated the efforts of Nghe An and Thanh provinces, the Ministry of Education and Training, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and relevant agencies for successfully organising this year’s event.
He also asked the ministries and localities around the country to continue to promote the investment of infrastructure and equipment as well as innovate both contents and form of organsiation of the national school games in the coming times.
The relevant agencies should also implement measures to popularise the sports movement among schools and the entire society.
The 2016 National School Games drew the participation of nearly 15,000 students from 62 provinces and cities around the country. The participants competed in 15 subjects in Thanh Hoa and Nghe An provinces.
