This is not only a brilliant milestone in the history of Vietnam but also an event of era stature encouraging colonial countries and oppressed peoples around the world to rise up and fight for independence, democracy and social progress.
The victory of the August Revolution is the crystallisation of the traditional patriotism, wisdom, bravery and indomitable spirit of the Vietnamese people under the genius leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and President Ho Chi Minh. It was also the combined result of revolutionary movements during the 15 years after the Party formed.
The success of the August Revolution created an important turning point on the path of national construction and defence. Since then, the country has entered a new era, the era of national independence associated with socialism. People are the owners of the country and master their own destiny and have united together to develop the country to be stronger and more prosperous.
The achievements from the August Revolution are enormous. The lessons from the great revolution are of lasting value and became a solid foundation for the whole nation to advance towards new victories. They were lessons of Party building as well as the promotion of the great national unity, the proactive and creative spirit, and self-reliance.
During the difficult and arduous stages of revolutionary struggle, the CPV always maintained its leadership role with appropriate and creative platforms, guidelines and action plans that were suitable to the conditions and circumstances of each period. The cadres and party members have had solid political courage, pure morality and strong will. During the August Uprising in 1945, the Party gathered the strength of millions of patriotic people, creating a strong wave that drove away the invaders.
Over the past 77 years, the spirit of that historic autumn has always been a spiritual fire inspiring the entire Party and people to overcome all difficulties and hardships to create miracles in the Ho Chi Minh era towards defeating the French colonialists and American imperialists, unifying the nation and building socialism. In any circumstance, the people have had full confidence in the Party's leadership, have been steadfast in their chosen goals and path, and have remained determined to carry out the renewal cause, gaining great achievements with historical significance. As a result, Vietnam has never had such potential, position and international prestige as it does today.
With pride in the Revolutionary Autumn and the glorious historical tradition while being grateful to President Ho Chi Minh, the genius leader for the Vietnamese revolution, and remembering the dedication of millions of heroic fallen soldiers, Vietnamese people have pledged to resolutely protect the achievements of the August Revolution and uphold the historical values and lessons during the cause of national construction and development.
The entire Party, people and army strive to emulate and successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress towards stepping up the building and rectification of the Party and the political system and perfecting a rule-of-law state of the people, by the people, and for the people. The country continues to overcome the difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic and urgently restore production and business, strives to achieve important results in socio-economic development, and continues to comprehensively and synchronously strengthen the national renewal process.
Each cadre and party member should uphold the revolutionary tradition to train themselves and foster moral qualities, political bravery and professional qualification to perform well in the responsibility of setting an example in life and working towards strengthening the building of a pure, strong and comprehensive Party, accelerating the study of and adherence to President Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality and style, and consolidating people’s confidence in the Party and the regime. Sectors, localities, agencies and units should continue to actively innovate and improve the efficiency of the apparatus and the working style of cadres to meet the higher requirements of tasks in the new stage.
The great tasks in the near future require the entire Party, people and army to bring into full play the will of self-reliance and creativity to overcome difficulties and challenges, to grasp opportunities and promote potentials and advantages towards achieving the goal of rapid and sustainable development. On that journey, the revolutionary tradition is the source of power for the whole nation to continue to make miracles and build Vietnam to be stronger and more prosperous.
