Project launched to increase capacity of Vietnam’s firefighting and rescue police force

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), in coordination with the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department under Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security held a ceremony in Hanoi on January 15 to launch a project on increasing the capacity of Vietnam’s firefighting and rescue police force.

The five-year project aims to improve the training quality of firefighting, rescue and rescue activities in Vietnam towards modernisation and professionalism.

The project will include developing training programmes and documents for firefighting and rescue operations and launching training courses for the Vietnamese firefighting and rescue police force in Japan.

The project is expected to enhance the professional experience and practice of Vietnamese firefighting and rescue police so that they will better fulfil their assigned tasks.

Following the launch ceremony, experts from JICA and Vietnamese participants joined a fire drill, which was held within the framework of the project.
