The conference is a practical annual activity in the field of people-to-people diplomacy. It also provides an opportunity for the Association's Central Committee and its member organisations to exchange experiences, strengthen coordination, and identify directions for improving the effectiveness of their activities in the coming period, thereby contributing to consolidating the traditional friendship and further deepening the Viet Nam–Russian Federation Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Addressing the conference, Dang Thanh Son, Vice Chairman of the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee, expressed his honour that Ninh Binh had been selected to host the event.
He said that the province hoped to continue receiving the attention and guidance of the Association's Central Committee for the Ninh Binh Chapter of the Viet Nam–Russian Federation Friendship Association, helping it gradually consolidate its organisational structure, expand its membership, renew the content and methods of its activities, and enhance the effectiveness of its people-to-people diplomatic work.
On that basis, the Chapter will further promote its role in fostering friendship, strengthening mutual understanding and close ties between the peoples of the two countries in general, and between Ninh Binh Province and Russian localities in particular, while making positive contributions to the overall development of the Association.
In a spirit of frankness and responsibility, delegates focused their discussions on reviewing the achievements that have been made, identifying shortcomings, analysing their causes, and proposing recommendations and solutions to improve the Association's work.
Speaking at the conference, Phan Chi Hieu, Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee for Legal and Judicial Affairs, and President of the Viet Nam–Russian Federation Friendship Association, said that this year marks the first year in which the Association has implemented the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress, along with a series of key resolutions issued by the Party Central Committee and the Politburo.
Among these are two important Politburo resolutions in the fields of international cooperation and foreign affairs: Resolution No. 59 on international integration in the new situation, and Resolution No. 06 on implementing the foreign policy adopted at the 14th National Party Congress.
In the coming period, the Association should continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the Party's and the State's policies and guidelines on people-to-people diplomacy regarding the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with the Russian Federation, as well as the objectives and guiding principles set out in the relevant resolutions.
At the same time, the Association should proactively renew and improve the effectiveness of its activities, strengthen its role in connecting businesses, educational institutions and localities of both countries to explore markets and promote cooperation in education and training, tourism, and cultural exchanges.
It should also intensify exchanges between the younger generations of the two countries, creating favourable conditions for young people to actively preserve, inherit and further develop the good relations between Viet Nam and the Russian Federation.
