Speaking at a ceremony held in Hanoi on October 2 to introduce the documents, Chu Duc Tinh, director of the Ho Chi Minh Museum, called the documents rare and precious materials for research on the relationship between the two countries.
For his part, Russian Ambassador to Vietnam A.G Kovtun said the archival copies reflect the deep historical roots of the relationship between Vietnam and Russia, which is built on the foundation of friendship and mutual support.
Included in the records is a report from the Embassy of the Soviet Union in France dated August 20, 1945 that discusses Indochina-related issues, and a message dated September 22, 1945 from President Ho Chi Minh to General Secretary Joseph Stalin asking for assistance with dyke breakage.
The documents will soon be put on display at the museum.
