The national art and architecture relic in Duong Lam is a complex with 50 ranked relics and nearly 100 ancient houses, dating back more than 100 years, and nearly 1,000 traditional houses of the rural area in the Northern Delta.
Thirteen projects with a total investment of 178 billion VND, have been implemented since 2013, to preserve, embellish and promote the Duong Lam ancient village.
During the field trip, the city’s leaders inspected the status of relics, assessed the advantages and limitations, and considered solutions to create new vitality for the relics.
Vice Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong affirmed that Duong Lam ancient village and relics in Son Tay town have great cultural and historical value, in which Duong Lam ancient village is a rare and unique relic in Vietnam.
He noted that the trip helped Hanoi authorities to grasp the situation of management and conservation of such relics, to consider planning work and the building of mechanisms towards preserving priceless values of relics while creating a driving force for socio-economic development and improving living conditions and livelihoods for local people.
