Seminar helps businesses expand presence in US market

The Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC), the US-Viet Nam Business Council (USVBC), and the Association of Vietnamese Professionals and Students in the US (VPS) jointly organised the Viet Nam-US Business Connection seminar on July 10, equipping businesses with vital updates on bilateral trade and investment, opportunities and challenges in the US market, and practical insights to support their expansion into the country.

Cao Thi Phi Van, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Centre, speaks at the seminar.

At the event, experts underscored Viet Nam’s immense potential in capitalising on the ongoing shift in global supply chains, particularly in the era of the digital economy and semiconductors.

They emphasised that Viet Nam is increasingly cementing its position as a strategic destination for major technology investment projects from leading global corporations such as Intel, Apple, Boeing, and Nvidia.

Speaking at the seminar, Cao Thi Phi Van, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Centre, stressed that businesses must remain highly adaptable in adapting to changes in tariff policies.

In Ho Chi Minh City, investment from the US continued to grow steadily, with newly registered and additional capital exceeding 80 million USD during the first six months of 2026.

The city is also laser-focused on drawing in high-quality investment, developing its start-up and innovation ecosystem, and accelerating digital transformation across all sectors of the economy.

Cao Thi Phi Van cautioned that alongside the opportunities, Vietnamese businesses must proactively fortify their capacity to respond to trade remedy measures, enhance transparency regarding product origin, and diversify their export markets to secure sustainable long-term growth.

The seminar was designed to deliver an overview of Viet Nam-US trade and investment relations, enabling businesses to forge a clearer roadmap of the opportunities and challenges.

The event also offered vital practical insights into business establishment and operation, investment opportunities in the US, and the complex legal and financial issues related to cross-border investment flows.

The organisers hope the seminar will empower businesses to navigate legal, financial, and business culture challenges, cementing a robust foundation for future cross-border partnerships.
