At the meeting, National Assembly Deputy Sung A Lenh informed voters of the outcome of the legislative body’s ninth plenary session.
Voters expressed their agreement with the National Assembly’s prompt and decisive actions to take the country into a new period of rapid and sustainable development.
For his part, Lao Cai Chairman Tran Huy Tuan briefed voters on the country’s socio-economic performance in the first half of the year and clarified a number of issues put forward by voters.
At the meeting, Minister of Home Affairs Pham Thi Thanh Tra provided further clarification about the two-level local government, while Minister of Agriculture and Environment Do Duc Duy provided information about provincial planning, land planning and public houses for civil servants after the merger.
Speaking at the event, Politburo member Tran Cam Tu offered his congratulations on the merger of Yen Bai Province and Lao Cai Province into the new Lao Cai Province.
He noted that the province should soon introduce policies to tap into its strengths, accelerate key projects, ensure national defence, effectively manage public assets and prioritise converting former public offices into healthcare and cultural facilities.
The senior Party official also thanked voters for contributing many practical opinions and pledged to transfer them to the National Assembly, Government and ministries to continue perfecting policies and ensuring development meet the people’s expectations.
