According to the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 23 on the implementation of a number of policies to support employees and employers facing difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as of September 17, a total of 1,293 employees from 14 units received support in training, fostering and improving vocational skills to maintain their jobs, up to a maximum of VND1.5 million per person a month.

The specific support level is calculated according to the actual study time of each profession or each course. The maximum support period is six months per person. The estimated funding is about VND4.5 trillion sourced from the Unemployment Insurance Fund.

The policy implementation period is from July 1, 2021, to the end of December 31, 2022. Enterprises can submit their applications from July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022.

Recently, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs also proposed to amend and supplement some contents of Resolution No.68 on conditions for enjoying vocational training support policies.

According to the current regulations, effective from July 7, 2021, one of the conditions for employers to apply for this policy is to have seen a decrease of 10% or more in the revenue of the preceding quarter to the time of requesting support compared to the same period in 2019 or 2020.
