For her part, Lao Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Phimpha Keomixay said that the donation from the Attapeu Province aimed to share difficulties with Ho Chi Minh City during its fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

She took the occasion to convey her thanks to Ho Chi Minh City’s Party Committee, authorities, and people for their support to Laos during the country’s construction and development as well as their assistance for Lao people who are living and working in the city amidst COVID-19.

She expressed her belief that Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City in particular will soon contain the pandemic and continue cooperative programmes with Laos, including the memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and the Lao capital of Vientiane for the 2021 – 2025 period.
