Ho Chi Minh City recovers 682 sets of martyrs’ remains at Le Thi Rieng Park

The search and recovery force for martyrs’ remains under the Ho Chi Minh City High Command discovered and recovered an additional 10 sets of martyrs’ remains in Area B of Le Thi Rieng Park on September 30.

According to a report by the team in charge of searching for and recovering martyrs’ remains under the Ho Chi Minh City High Command, on September 30, the forces continued to focus their search on Area B, expanding the excavation area and checking locations.

More than 500 cubic metres of soil were processed during the day, with the Ho Chi Minh City High Command mobilising various pieces of heavy machinery to excavate and transport soil and carry out other tasks in the search area.

From June 23 through September 30, the relevant forces discovered and recovered 682 sets of martyrs’ remains, including 301 sets accompanied by artefacts.

Of the remains discovered, 649 sets were recovered from individual locations. The remaining 33 sets were found at eight mass grave sites in Areas A and B.

The forces are continuing to expand the search area and check locations in Area B as part of the search and recovery of martyrs’ remains.
