The information was released at a press conference held by Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper and the Fertilisers and Chemicals Petroleum Corporation in Hanoi on June 13.

The fifth contest attracted the participation and response of people of all strata, journalists, collaborators and readers from all provinces and cities around the country.

The organising board selected 111 articles to be published in Nhan Dan daily newspaper.

Among 31 works in the final round, 20 works received awards, including one A, three B, six C and ten consolation prizes.

According to Deputy Editor-in-chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper Phan Huy Hien, this year’s articles vividly reflect issues related to agricultural restructuring including investment capital, application of advanced science and technology, building a brand for Vietnamese agricultural products, implementation of food safety and shifting plant and animal species adaptation to climate change.

In addition, numerous works analyse and propose other important solutions to agricultural and rural development such as bank credit investment associated with farmers’ economic transformation as well as development of trade villages during the integration period towards improvement of economic value and sustainable environmental protection.

The awards ceremony will be held at the Au Co Arts Centre, No. 8 Huynh Thuc Khang Street in Hanoi’s Ba Dinh district and broadcast live on Vietnam Television Channel 2 at 7:30pm on June 18.

Initiated in 2011, the annual contest aims to bring the Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW of the Party Central Committee (10th tenure) on the agriculture, farmers and rural areas to life.
