According to Pham Thi Thanh Huyen, Editor-in-chief of Nguoi Dai Bieu Nhan Dan Newspaper — the organiser of the programme — the event was aimed to re-enact the historic moment on September 2, 1945, when the Democratic Republic of Vietnam was formally established, which opened a new era for the country.

She said: “Continuing the 79 autumns of revolution, we are absolutely confident that the country will become more prosperous and stay firm on the path towards socialism, successfully realising the wishes of President Ho Chi Minh and the entire nation.”

The programme featured three chapters on the joy on the Independence Day, the southern region in Uncle Ho’s heart and the development of the country.

With eternal songs throughout the decades, the programme helped the audience relive historic days and paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh and the generations of Vietnamese people who have sacrificed themselves for national independence and the people’s happiness.

Through the programme, the organiser expected to evoke national pride, love for the country and confidence in the nation’s future of prosperous development.
