The project has a total investment of 116 million USD and covers an area of more than 26 hectares, with an estimated construction period of 12 months.

Upon completion, the facility will be dedicated to manufacturing independent storage tanks for the modern maritime industry.

The investment project is of high strategic importance and is expected to make independent storage tanks a flagship product in HD Hyundai EcoVina's future business structure, alongside its traditional port crane and plant module operations.

In addition, the facility will serve as a strategic production base, directly supplying tanks to HD Hyundai Group's global shipbuilding industry. The application of environmentally friendly production processes demonstrates the company's commitment to sustainable development and emissions reduction.

At the same time, HD Hyundai EcoVina is restructuring the layout of its production area and investing in equipment and machinery for its existing workshops so that it can begin manufacturing tanks as early as 2027.

Speaking at the ceremony, Nguyen Duc Tam, Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee, affirmed that the groundbreaking ceremony of the HD Hyundai EcoVina industrial project — an environmentally friendly independent tank manufacturing plant — is a vivid testament to the 30-year journey of effective and sustainable investment attraction in the Dung Quat Economic Zone.

To ensure that the project can soon complete its construction items, enter stable operation, and maximise its effectiveness, the Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People’s Committee asked the Party Committee and authorities of Van Tuong Commune and the Management Board of the Dung Quat Economic Zone and Quang Ngai industrial parks to continue closely following the project, accompanying and providing maximum support to the HD Hyundai Group in implementing it on schedule, while ensuring quality and complying with regulations.

They were also asked to coordinate with the investor to prioritise vocational training and career transition as well as create stable jobs for people in the project area, particularly households that have agreed to and supported the project by making their land available; and build harmonious and strong relations, ensuring that local people genuinely benefit from the project's achievements and development.

For HD Hyundai EcoVina, the business should focus financial resources, modern equipment, and highly qualified personnel on ensuring progress, technical quality, and environmental requirements; comply with the law; and apply green and clean technologies in line with the orientation towards sustainable industrial development.

At the same time, the business needs to work closely with the province on the recruitment, training, and employment of local workers, giving priority to children of families who have given up their land for the project; fulfil its social responsibilities; and link the business' development with the overall development of Quang Ngai.

“Quang Ngai will proactively coordinate with ministries and central-level agencies to promptly resolve difficulties and obstacles, gradually building Quang Ngai and the Dung Quat Economic Zone into destinations with an open, stable, and sustainable investment environment. At the same time, we will focus on completing the connectivity infrastructure system and training high-quality human resources to meet businesses' demand for labour and worker training,” Nguyen Duc Tam affirmed.
