Although local residents had prepared in advance, the rapid and prolonged rise of floodwaters left hundreds of households growing flowers for the Lunar New Year (Tet) market in Da Nang with nothing. Local authorities are now striving to devise recovery solutions and support affected communities.

The 72 wards and communes of Da Nang that suffered the most damage due to the recent floods were provided with emergency support worth 210 billion VND to promptly overcome the consequences of floods and storms and soon stabilise people’s lives.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha on October 27 signed an urgent dispatch ordering ministries, agencies, and local authorities to take urgent measures to address and recover from severe floods striking the central region.
