Politburo member, Secretary of the Government’s Party Committee, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a conference in Ha Noi on January 11 to review the work of the Government’s Party Committee in 2025 and deploy the direction and tasks for 2026.

More than 277,500 members of the Viet Nam War Veterans Association (VWVA) have contributed opinions on the draft documents to be submitted to the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam through various channels, the association reported.

The Sixth National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam was held in Ha Noi, on December 15 and 18, 1986. The Congress was attended by 1,129 delegates, representing more than 1.9 million Party members nationwide. Thirty-two international delegations attended the Congress.

The 12th National Party Congress took place from January 20–28 in the capital city of Ha Noi, with 1,510 delegates representing more than 4.5 million Party members nationwide.

The 5th National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam was held in Ha Noi, from March 27 to 31, 1982. The Congress was attended by 1,033 delegates, representing more than 1.72 million Party members from 35,146 grassroots Party organisations, along with 47 international delegations.

The 9th National Party Congress convened in Ha Noi from April 19 to 22, 2001, with 1,168 delegates representing 2,479,000 Party members nationwide.

The 7th National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam was held in Ha Noi from June 24 to 27, 1991. The Congress was attended by 1,176 delegates, representing over 2 million Party members nationwide.

From December 14 to 20, 1976, the Fourth National Party Congress was held in Ha Noi with the participation of 1,008 delegates representing more than 1.55 million Party members nationwide. The congress was also attended by 29 delegations from communist parties, workers’ parties, national liberation movements, and international organisations.

On September 5-10, 1960, the Third National Party Congress took place in Ha Noi with the participation of 525 official and 51 alternates delegates, representing more than 500,000 Party members. Nearly 20 international delegations also attended the congress.

Viet Nam has achieved remarkable socio-economic progress over the past tenure, driven by the concerted efforts of ministries and localities to seize opportunities and overcome challenges under the Party and Government’s leadership, Politburo member and Standing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh said.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on July 31 called on ministries, sectors, and localities to make every effort to meet the expressway and coastal road development targets set by the 13th National Party Congress, aiming to report strong results to the upcoming 14th National Party Congress.
