The Viet Nam–Southeast Asia Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organisations and local authorities, has organised the “ASEAN People-to-People Connectivity” programme in Chau Pha Commune, Ho Chi Minh City.
The programme featured the participation of Consuls General of Southeast Asian countries in the city along with a large number of delegates and guests.
The programme was held at the Due Tam Tra Cultural Space, with a highlight being a friendship tea party, contributing to enhanced cultural exchanges and promoting connections among people of ASEAN countries.
In a cultural setting imbued with strong Vietnamese identity, delegates took part in tea appreciation activities, exchanges, and discussions, thereby strengthening mutual understanding and reinforcing solidarity and friendship in the region.
On behalf of the Chau Pha Commune People’s Committee, Phan Minh Hop, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Committee of the commune, stated that the event holds practical significance in enhancing exchanges, cooperation, and mutual understanding among the peoples of ASEAN countries; contributing to building a dynamic, cohesive, and sustainable ASEAN Community. He also affirmed that the locality always pays attention to preserving and promoting traditional cultural values and stands ready to serve as a bridge in international exchange activities.
On the occasion, Associate Professor Dr Phan Thi Hong Xuan, President of the Viet Nam–Southeast Asia Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City, emphasised that in the context of deepening regional integration, people-to-people diplomacy and cultural exchanges play an important role in building a sustainable foundation for regional cooperation, thereby enhancing understanding, trust, and friendship among ASEAN nations.
Representing the ASEAN Consular Corps, Wiraka Moodhitaporn, Consul General of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh City, highly appreciated the significance of the programme.
Also at the event, Nguyen Thi Minh Hien, representative of the Due Tam Tra Cultural Space, noted that through the art of tea appreciation, the organisation hopes to create a space for relaxation, balance, and harmonious connection, thereby helping to spread Vietnamese cultural values to international friends.
Cultural exchange activities, including traditional tea appreciation rituals, have contributed to strengthening connections between peoples, promoting understanding and cooperation in the region.
