A short drama programme presented by the Ho Chi Minh City artists at the Worker Theatre highlighted the national revolutionary tradition and marked the 83rd Party founding anniversary as well as the 1968 Spring Offensive and Uprising. It was free for war veterans, workers, and students not spending Tet at home and will be restaged on March 15.
A spring festival, which included traditional games and activities, was held at the Keo pagoda in Duy Nhat commune, Vu Thu district in the northern province of Thai Binh. The 400-year-old pagoda was certified as a special national historical and architectural relic in 2012.
Another festival opened at the Phat Tich Pagoda, Phat Tich commune, Tien Du district in the northern province of Bac Ninh, and attracted thousands of visitors with its traditional cultural exhibits, art exchanges, performances, and folk games such as ‘quan ho,’ ‘ca tru,’ chau van,’ ‘cheo’ and ‘xam.’ The festival will continue at the national historical and cultural relic until February 17.
A festival exhibiting over 1,000 Tet newspapers published nationwide opened at Tan Thanh commune, Phu Binh district of the northern province of Thai Nguyen. Another festival opened at the district’s spiritual and religious complex.
A two-day festival commemorating the three brother heroes of Nguyen Nhac, Nguyen Hue and Nguyen Lu kicked off at the Quang Trung museum, Phu Phong town, Tay Son district in the central southern province of Binh Dinh. Thousands of visitors and residents participated in martial arts performances, traditional folk singing, and games.
A boat race festival worshiping for a peaceful and prosperous nation and a good harvest, as well as commemorating the founders of Ly Son island, who measured and marked the country’s sovereignty over the Spratly and Paracel Islands, was held in Ly Son island district of the coastal central province of Quang Ngai. It is the island’s annual biggest boat race festival and reflects a traditional cultural identity and the protection and sovereignty over the nation’s seas and islands.
