The event was attended by former Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh, former provincial leaders, representatives of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of Labour, and Heroes of the People’s Armed Forces.

In his speech, Trinh Xuan Truong, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, emphasised that the establishment of the province’s first Communist Party cell, with four members in 1936 in La Bang Commune, marked an important milestone in the revolutionary movement in Thai Nguyen. It made a significant contribution to mobilising and encouraging the public to participate in revolutionary activities.

During the August Revolution, under the leadership of the Party Central Committee and the Party organisation, local people fought to liberate the provincial capital and established the Provisional Administration of Thai Nguyen Province on August 20, 1945. This opened a new chapter in the history of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee.

Today, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee has more than 145,000 members, reflecting the organisational growth and the maturity in resolve, intellect, and strength that the provincial Party organisation has developed through revolutionary practice.

In the new period, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party organisation, together with its citizens and cadres, is committed to fulfilling President Ho Chi Minh’s vision — expressed during his visit on January 1, 1964 — of developing the province into one of the most prosperous in northern Viet Nam.
