According to a report by the organising board, this year’s exhibition covers an area of about 123,800sq.m, divided into seven main zones: an outdoor display area; an indoor display area; a defence experience and military games area; an area introducing defence-economic products and the cultures of the three regions; a VIP reception area; a grandstand and performance area; and common areas.

The types of weapons and technical equipment of Viet Nam’s defence industry to be displayed at the exhibition are expected to be diverse and abundant, with many new products compared with previous editions.

So far, the organising board has sent invitations to partners from 56 countries to participate in the exhibition. Notably, it has invited the ministries of defence of Laos and China to join the display at the space introducing defence-economic products and the cultures of the three regions. It successfully organised the first training course for 145 liaison officers, interpreters, and military trainees serving the exhibition.

Service plans for the exhibition have been completed. The catering area will be able to serve 5,000-7,000 meals per sitting; traffic flow will be arranged to ensure smooth movement for fire engines, ambulances, and supply vehicles; and the military medical area will include two emergency resuscitation booths outside and one emergency booth inside.

The organising board has coordinated with the Viet Nam Military Medical University and the Military Institute of Traditional Medicine to set up a military medicine experience booth on traditional medicine for visitors.

The Viet Nam International Defence Expo 2026 is scheduled to take place at Gia Lam Airport in Ha Noi over four days, from December 10 to 13, 2026.

As of early September 2026, 128 delegations and companies from 31 countries, including the UK, France, Germany, the US, Japan, India, the Republic of Korea, Türkiye, and China, have registered to display products at the exhibition.

The exhibition has been identified by the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence as one of the activities of significance in defence external relations. It is expected to continue affirming Viet Nam’s position and prestige in the international arena, contributing to the promotion of defence cooperation and the development of a modern, dual-use defence industry that meets the requirements of national construction and defence in the new situation.
