U23 Vietnam beat Tajikistan 1-0 in friendly match

Vietnam's U23 football team defeated U23 Tajikistan 1-0 in a friendly match held on March 20 at the Central Tajikistan Stadium in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.

As head coach Philippe Troussier is currently leading the Vietnamese senior team in two matches against Indonesia for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, assistant coach Moulay Lahsen took charge of guiding the team.

The first half of the match ended with a goalless score. In the second half, the U23 Vietnam team gained the advantage after Vietnam were awarded a free kick on the right wing, and Le Quoc Nhat Nam took a powerful shot towards the goal in the 47th minute.

It was the decisive goal that helped the U23 Vietnam team to win the game. The two teams will enter the second leg on March 23.

The matches were held during the training session of Vietnam's U23 football team in preparation for the 2024 U23 Asian Cup final, which is set to take place in Qatar from April 15 to May 3.
