Various activities to be held at Cultural Village to greet New Year 2023

The Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism is hosting a myriad of activities from December 31, 2022, to January 2, 2023, to greet New Year 2023.

The highlight of the events is a rural market showcasing cultural identities, traditional practices and handicrafts, and indigenous dishes of ethnic groups in the northern region.

The market features 50 stalls, introducing traditional dishes of ethnic groups along with typical products of northern provinces.

In addition, the visitors will have a chance to enjoy the folk performing arts of Khen dance - the national intangible cultural heritage of the H'Mong ethnic group in Bac Kan province, the contest of blowing five-coloured sticky rice and a tray of rice to celebrate the new year of the Thai ethnic group in Son La province.

For the first time participating in the village, Khang ethnic people from Dien Bien province will reproduce their traditional Pang Phoong festival (Thanksgiving).

The event also includes a wide range of folk music performances, folk dances, and various folk games.
