A century ago, leader Nguyen Ai Quoc (President Ho Chi Minh) personally wrote, edited, printed, and published this seminal work. It laid out the path for Vietnam’s revolutionary movement, defining its direction, goals, ideals, driving forces, and emphasising the vital role of revolutionary theory. The book laid the ideological and theoretical foundation for the establishment of the Communist Party of Vietnam on February 3, 1930.

"Revolutionary Path" is one of the most prominent legacies of President Ho Chi Minh, recognised as a national treasure and a timeless ideological and cultural asset of the Party and the Vietnamese people.

The book compiles a series of lectures by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc delivered at political training courses for the first cadres of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Youth League, held across three sessions from 1925 to 1926. It contains great national and international thoughts on national liberation, socialism, and Vietnam’s path to socialism under Ho Chi Minh’s vision.

The book is reproduced from the original published in 1927.

The work also presents the characteristics and contents of major revolutions in world history—such as the American Revolution of 1776, the French Revolution of 1789, and the Russian Revolution of 1917—to affirm the truth at that time for the Vietnamese nation: to survive, revolution was necessary; and for a successful revolution, it required a leading Party, Marxism-Leninism as its core, and an effective revolutionary method.

The book served both as a training document for cadres and as a tool for spreading Marxism-Leninism, providing essential political, ideological, theoretical, and organisational preparation for the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Originally printed in Guangzhou (China), the books were secretly transported back to Vietnam through various channels, including via Hanoi, and by waterway to Hai Phong and Hai Duong, before being reproduced and distributed nationwide.

It became an invaluable ideological legacy, demonstrating the Vietnamese people's aspiration for independence and freedom during colonial rule, and reflecting President Ho Chi Minh’s exceptional leadership.

Each copy of the book will be individually numbered in a limited edition.

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of its publication and in celebration of Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day (April 21), this edition of “Revolutionary Path” has been published as a special gift from the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism to senior leaders and former leaders of the Party and State, as well as central-level ministry and sector leaders.

The book replicates the original version held at the Vietnam National Museum of History, a recognised national treasure. It is produced using modern printing technology on premium paper, with a decorative presentation box for formal gifting.

The reproduction of this original 1927 edition honours the priceless value of this national treasure and affirms the commitment of the publishing sector to uphold the cultural values and intellectual strength of the Vietnamese people, igniting the national aspiration for development—“entering a new era with books—the era of national rise.”
