[Video] Viet Nam's trade turnover poised to exceed 1 trillion USD in 2026

Import and export activities remained a bright spot in Viet Nam's economy during the first seven months of 2026, with total trade turnover estimated at 659 billion USD, surging by 28% year-on-year. The Ministry of Industry and Trade forecasts that total trade turnover for the year could surpass 1 trillion USD.

The stronger growth in imports underscores rising demand for raw materials, machinery, and equipment to support manufacturing.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade projects Viet Nam's total import-export turnover in 2026 to surpass the 1 trillion USD mark, driven by the effective utilisation of the country's network of new-generation free trade agreements (FTAs).

Alongside trade, industrial production has consistently served as a crucial engine in driving economic growth.
