This information was announced at a press conference held in Japan, on January 28, with the participation of representatives from the Consulate General of Viet Nam in Osaka, local authorities, sponsors and invited guests.
Vietnamese Consul General in Osaka Ngo Trinh Ha, together with members of the Organising Committee, attends and chairs the press conference.
Following the success of its first two editions, the third Viet Nam Festival inViet Osaka is gradually asserting its position as a distinctive annual cultural event. It has become a meeting point for the Vietnamese community in Japan, while also serving as a bridge to introduce Viet Nam’s culture, people and country to the Japanese public and international friends through music, cuisine and a range of traditional and contemporary cultural activities.
This year’s festival takes place against the backdrop of Viet Nam’s successful organisation of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, ushering in a new phase of national development. At the same time, the Viet Nam–Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership is expected to enter a period of stronger, more substantive and deeper development. Japan is currently one of Viet Nam’s important and trusted partners across many fields, from the economy and culture to education and people-to-people exchanges.
With the theme “Viet Nam Now – Taste, Sound, Smile: Experiencing Viet Nam with All Five Senses”, this year’s festival aims to recreate a vibrant and modern Vietnamese space in the heart of Osaka.
In terms of cuisine, dozens of booths will introduce signature dishes such as pho, bun bo, banh mi, spring rolls and coffee, prepared and served directly by reputable Vietnamese restaurants in Osaka and the Kansai region.
On the artistic front, the programme will feature performances by artists from Viet Nam as well as Japanese artists who have a strong affection for Vietnamese culture.
From a tourism perspective, the festival will provide an opportunity to introduce new and attractive destinations in Viet Nam to the Japanese public.
Notably, the Organising Committee will also roll out health consultation and consular advisory activities, aimed at supporting the Vietnamese community of around 140,000 people in the Kansai region, as well as compatriots from other areas.
With the participation of numerous Vietnamese and Japanese artists, including Hoang Duyen, Jsol and Lam Bao Ngoc, the festival is expected to offer residents of Osaka, the wider Kansai region and visitors rich, approachable and emotionally engaging experiences of Vietnamese culture.
