The delegation inspected preparations at venues where activities within the framework of the Viet Nam International Defence Expo 2026 are scheduled to take place at Gia Lam Airport.
Following the inspection, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang chaired a meeting of the Steering Committee for the Viet Nam International Defence Expo 2026. The meeting was also attended by Senior Lieutenant General Le Quang Dao.
At the meeting, the General Department of Defence Industry, the standing body of the exhibition's organising committee, together with subcommittees and relevant agencies and units, reported on preparations and implementation progress in recent times, as well as difficulties, obstacles and recommendations, and outlined orientations and tasks for the coming period.
In his concluding remarks, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang commended and highly appreciated the efforts and sense of responsibility demonstrated by the organising committee, subcommittees and relevant agencies and units in actively preparing for the exhibition.
With little time remaining before the opening ceremony, he called on the organising committee, subcommittees and relevant agencies and units to review their assigned tasks, relevant directives, and conclusions; maintain a high level of focus, and continue to demonstrate responsibility and initiative while strengthening coordination to ensure that preparations proceed effectively. He also urged them to promptly report any difficulties, obstacles or issues beyond their authority, ensuring that the exhibition is organised in a modern, effective, united, and safe manner.
Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang also asked the relevant bodies to take note of the latest directive from General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of National Defence, on organising a fireworks display to celebrate the exhibition. He also agreed to the organisation of a “war correspondent” display and experience area at the exhibition.
The 2026 event will mark the third edition of the Viet Nam International Defence Expo hosted by Viet Nam's Ministry of National Defence. The four-day exhibition will take place from December 10 to 13, 2026, at Gia Lam Airport in Ha Noi.
