Viet Nam People’s Army upholds wholehearted trust and love for the Party

In all circumstances, cadres and soldiers across the entire army remain steadfast and committed, firmly upholding their revolutionary character and acting as pioneers and role models in all tasks and duties, stemming from their unwavering trust and devotion to the Party.

Firmly safeguarding the Party’s ideological front

Regiment 64 of Air Defence Division 361 under the Air Defence–Air Force Service is a mixed air defence unit equipped with modern weapons and technical equipment, tasked with managing and protecting the airspace of the capital Ha Noi, as well as safeguarding the airspace, seas, and islands of northern regions.

Senior Colonel Le Thuy Son, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of Regiment 64, shared that based on mission requirements, the regiment’s Party Committee has identified political and ideological education as a key task and has implemented it rigorously. The Party Committee and command of the regiment regularly organise the study and dissemination of the Party’s and State’s guidelines and policies on national defence tasks in the new situation for cadres and soldiers. The unit has developed models and renewed methods for Party work and political work by supplementing and updating knowledge, enhancing persuasiveness in lectures, and upgrading the library and traditional hall system.

Each year, the regiment’s Youth Union organises exchange programmes, seminars, and contests to learn about the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, and the traditions of the Viet Nam People’s Army and the air defence–air force. The unit has widely promoted studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality, and style in close association with political tasks. These efforts have helped deeply cultivate patriotism and a sense of responsibility towards the Fatherland and the people among each cadre and soldier. This serves as a great source of strength, enabling cadres and soldiers to foster enthusiasm for study and training, maintain combat readiness, and master modern weapons and equipment, thereby ensuring their role as a strategic air defence force contributing to firmly protecting the country’s skies.

The principle of “five proactiveness” in ideological work is always given special attention by Party committees and Party organisations within the army, especially during difficult periods and phases.

Brigade 649 under the Department of Vehicles and Transport of the General Department of Logistics and Technical Services of the Viet Nam People’s Army is tasked with strategic waterway transport in support of combat readiness and combat operations of units across the entire army.

Colonel Tran Van Minh, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of Brigade 649, said that in implementing plans to reorganise and streamline the unit’s organisational structure, the Party Committee and command of the brigade have intensified communication and dissemination among cadres and soldiers regarding the resolutions and guidelines of the Party as well as those of the Central Military Commission, emphasising the purpose and necessity of building a lean, compact, and strong army capable of meeting tasks in the new situation. Party committees and cells at all levels have strengthened meetings and exchanges to grasp the thoughts and aspirations of cadres and soldiers, thereby developing appropriate plans for personnel arrangement and task assignment.

The proactive and close attention to ideological matters by the Party Committee of Brigade 649 has enhanced the political awareness of cadres and soldiers, serving as an important prerequisite for the unit, together with the entire army, to take the lead in implementing the revolution of reorganising and streamlining the organisational apparatus of the political system under the Party’s leadership.

Many Party committees, Party organisations, and commanders at all levels within army units are focused on building a wholesome, rich, and healthy cultural environment; promoting the role and combined strength of organisations, forces, agencies, units, families, and localities in conducting ideological work; and actively taking the lead in combating and refuting wrong and hostile viewpoints to protect and firmly safeguard the Party’s ideological front within the army. These solutions have contributed to building a people’s army that is strong in politics, ideology, organisation, and ethics, creating a foundation for enhancing overall quality and combat strength, and successfully fulfilling the tasks entrusted by the Party, the State, and the people.

Unity of awareness and pioneering action

Loyalty and steadfast trust and devotion to the Party form the fundamental foundation and a sharp weapon enabling cadres and soldiers to demonstrate willpower and resilience, overcome hardships and challenges, and achieve many accomplishments on front-line battlefields, worthy of the title of Uncle Ho’s Soldiers in the new era.

A soldier engaged in scientific research not only pursues a passion for study but also bears the responsibility of a servicemember in meeting national defence requirements in the new situation, shared Colonel, Doctor Luong Luc Quynh, Deputy Director of the Institute of Military Ship Design, upon undertaking the task of researching and designing unmanned surface vehicles (USVs). After more than two years of work, involving many sleepless nights and persistent efforts to overcome limitations and failures, the institute’s USV was successfully accepted and put into the production process.

The institute is currently developing various product lines, including combat boats, reconnaissance boats, and mine and naval mine clearance boats. In the air defence–air force field, soldiers of the Air Defence–Air Force Technical Institute have also successfully developed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with features approaching global UAV development trends. These efforts and achievements by cadres and soldiers have contributed to strengthening military and defence potential, enabling the army to make breakthroughs towards becoming elite and modern, and clearly demonstrating the Viet Nam People’s Army’s spirit of determination to fight and determination to win.

Always conscious of dual responsibility, as a member of the Party and as a soldier of the Fatherland, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy of the Technical Department of Factory Z173 under the General Department of Defence Industry has tirelessly worked day and night to research and improve technical equipment and production lines at the factory. During operations, she observed that the resistor-based dummy load system used for testing small-capacity generators (onboard vessels and onshore) was bulky in design, inconvenient for transportation and storage, and inadequate for testing large capacities. With dedication, she researched and completed the project titled “Research, design, and manufacture of a 500 kVA three-phase water load testing system.”

Based on this project, the factory designed a water-based dummy load cabinet system that is safe and compact. When in operation, it features full protection modes and indicators for water temperature, voltage, frequency, power, and current, meeting practical requirements and delivering high economic efficiency. Along with many other valuable research projects and initiatives, Thuy has become a core figure spreading the spirit of studying and following President Ho Chi Minh on the production and labour front of the factory as well as throughout the entire army.

Trust and love for the Party also serve as a driving force that ignites courage, enabling soldiers to overcome all dangers and stand ready to protect the lives and property of the people during emergencies caused by natural disasters and floods. Border residents of Bat Xat Commune in Lao Cai Province still vividly recall the dangerous moments of storm No. 3 in 2024. Many villages were submerged in torrential rain, with water levels rising suddenly and currents becoming dangerously strong. At that critical moment, soldiers of the Bat Xat Border Guard Station appeared, bravely battling the floods to help families in evacuating elderly people and children to safety.

Major Duong A Lieu of the Administrative Control Team of the Bat Xat Border Guard Station shared that although the families of the soldiers themselves were also threatened by the flooding, the command from the heart of a soldier compelled them to act and help the people first.

Recently, during prolonged heavy rains in many central provinces, numerous deeds and exemplary actions by soldiers of Engineer Brigade 270, such as carrying patients to medical stations for timely emergency treatment, or units of Military Region 5 releasing reserve supplies to distribute food to flood-isolated residents, along with their swift determination in campaigns to repair and rebuild homes for affected communities, have been widely recognised and highly appreciated by the people.

Images of soldiers braving danger to protect the people, or undertaking field marches to help residents in remote villages build houses, roads and bridges, have become ever more deeply engraved in the hearts of the people, embellishing the image of Uncle Ho’s Soldiers and affirming the Viet Nam People’s Army’s revolutionary nature and absolute loyalty, trust, and devotion to the Party, as it comes from the people and serves the people.

With wholehearted and steadfast trust and love for the Party, the entire army is striving to study, train and improve political resolve, combat strength, and mastery of modern equipment and weapons, safeguarding the country’s territorial integrity in all situations, and standing shoulder to shoulder with the entire nation as it firmly advances under the Party’s flag into a new era.
