Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association marks 20th founding anniversary

The Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association held a ceremony on November 16 to mark the 20th anniversary of its establishment and celebrate Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23).

Speaking at the event, Associate Professor Do Van Tru, the association chairman, noted that over the past 20 years, the association has grown from a few hundred members to over 20,000, who have actively contributed to conserving and promoting Vietnamese cultural heritage.

The association has also organised conferences, workshops and seminars on cultural heritage, participated responsibly in formulating the Law on Cultural Heritage, and contributed ideas to many official documents.

Over the past two decades, the association has also actively promoted Vietnamese cultural heritage through its magazine, contests, exhibitions and books.

The association has been awarded the third-class Labour Order as well as many other certificates of merit for its achievements.

At the anniversary ceremony, the association presented the “For the cause of Vietnamese cultural heritage” insignias and its certificates of merits to individuals and groups with significant contributions to the conservation and promotion of national cultural heritage.
