'Vietnam Culture Week 2013’ kicks off in Laos

On the occasion of Vietnam’s upcoming National Day (Sept. 2), ‘Vietnam Culture Week 2013’ opened in Laos on August 29.

Lao Deputy Prime Minister Asang Laoly, and Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Bosengkham Vongdala, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Huynh Vinh Ai attended the opening ceremony.

Addressing the event, Deputy Minister Ai said the event helps to promote co-operation in culture and tourism between Vietnam and Laos while improving the mutual understanding and solidarity between the two peoples.

The week features a photo exhibition portraying the cultural life of Vietnam’s ethnic groups, the country’s landscapes, sea and islands, as well as the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos, plus art performances by Vietnamese artists.
