Vietnamese students claim gold medal at World Invention Creativity Olympic

A group of students from Hanoi-based high schools won the gold medal at the 13th 2024 World Invention Creativity Olympic, which was recently held in Seoul, the Republic of Korea (RoK), on July 23-24.

The Vietnamese team grouped Nguyen Tran Nam Khanh, Do Phuong Linh, Nguyen Tuan Khoi and Tan Thien Kim from Nguyen Tat Thanh High School together with Nguyen Cao Duc Minh from Foreign Language Specialised School.

The team was honoured for their joint research on modifying peanut shells as treatment materials for heavy metals causing pollution.

The 2024 World Invention Creativity Olympic was organised by the Korea University Invention Association under the sponsorship of the National Assembly of the RoK.

Taking place at the Seoul National University of Education, the event attracted the participation of around 2,000 individuals across nearly 140 teams from 25 countries worldwide, who came to showcase their nation's advancements in science, technology, and invention techniques.
