In his letter, the top leader cited President Ho Chi Minh’s quote in his letter sent to students on the first new-school-year opening day of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, which said: “Whether Vietnam will become prosperous and the Vietnamese nation will stand proudly as equals to major powers of the five continents is much predicated upon your study.”

He emphasised that the Party and State always eye education and training as a national priority and have promulgated policies for developing the sector.

He noted with pleasure that in the 2023 – 2024 academic year, after 10 years of implementing of the Party Central Committee’s Resolution No. 29-NQ/TW, dated November 4, 2013, on the fundamental and comprehensive reform of education and training, Vietnam’s education gained strong progresses and significant achievements, which have contributed to improving people’s intellectual level, developing human resources, and nurturing talents, thus facilitating the country’s socio-economic development and integration into the world.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, he applauded the efforts by teachers and students nationwide as well as the endeavours and results of the education sector and the support from students’ parents over the past years.

As 2024 – 2025 is the first academic year under the deployment the Politburo’s Conclusion No. 91-KL/TW on the continued implementation of Resolution No. 29-NQ/TW and the application of the new general education programme from the first to the 12th grades, he asked the education sector to realise this year’s education motto of “innovation, quality improvement, and solidarity – discipline.”

He stressed that education and training should continue to be oriented towards human development and happiness, and place people as the centre, key stakeholders, resource, and target of development, creating a foundation for achieving the goal of developing a powerful, democratic, equal, and civilised nation with rich people.

The leader expressed his belief that students and trainees will exert efforts in acquiring knowledge, developing core skills, and nurturing big dreams to build a more prosperous and happy country.

He asked teachers, managers and those working in the education sector to maintain their dedication and creativity to embrace difficulties, and make further contributions to their noble career.

He also called on coordination from students’ parents to create close connectivity among schools, families, and society.

He requested ministries, central sectors, Party committees, and authorities at all levels to better care for education by issuing proper, practical, and sound policies so that teachers, students, and learners have a healthy environment for teaching and learning, where they can uphold their creativity while assisting the reform process of the education sector

He took the occasion to wish teachers, managers, those working in the education sector, students, and learners good health, happiness, success, and further achievements in the new academic year.
