This year’s theme, “Creative Community,” emphasises the power of spreading and connecting community-focused initiatives. It celebrates innovative ideas, encouraging the replication of effective models. The award highlights the collaboration between large corporations, organisations, and small volunteer groups in driving sustainable change.
In its second year, the prize attracted 128 submissions across diverse fields. From this, 31 standout projects were selected for recognition. Notably, some projects have spanned over 15 years, showing persistent efforts by individuals and groups, including disadvantaged people, to create lasting impacts.
Key honourees included initiatives such as VinFast’s electric vehicles, the NESCAFÉ Plan, and scholarships for underprivileged children. These efforts exemplify innovation, sustainability, and significant contributions to the community.
The ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials, including Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, who praised the prize’s role in fostering a culture of giving and community service.
Le Quoc Minh, a member of the PCC, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, and Head of the Human Act Prize 2024 Organising Committee, stated, “The mission of the Human Act Prize is to find and spread models to guide the creative flow of the entire community in a meaningful and sustainable way, creating real change.”
Le Quoc Minh, who is also the Deputy Head of the PCC’s Commission for Communication and Education and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association, noted that the Human Act Prize will continue its journey of connecting resources, boosting spirits and knowledge to amplify projects with a significant impact on society, while inspiring individuals, organisations, and businesses eager to contribute to the next wave of creation, for a better life for all Vietnamese people and all nations on Earth.
The Human Act Prize 2024 also introduced creative elements such as a community initiative library and Vietnam’s first documentary on community actions. Beyond recognition, the prize aims to inspire broader participation in sustainable development, green growth, and digital transformation, contributing to Vietnam’s progress in the new era.
