On December 11, the General Department of Customs reported that the total import and export revenue in goods for November 2024 was 66.4 billion USD, down 4.1% compared to the previous month (a decrease of 2.83 billion USD).
Exports in November were valued at 33.73 billion USD, down 5.3% (a decrease of 1.9 billion USD), while imports reached 32.67 billion USD, down 2.8% (down 933 million USD).
Despite the decline in both exports and imports, Vietnam’s trade balance in goods for November 2024 still recorded a surplus of 1.06 billion USD.
Cumulatively, total import and export revenue in the first 11 months of 2024 reached 715.55 billion USD, an increase of 15.4% (up 95.32 billion USD) compared to the same period last year. Of this, exports were valued at 369.93 billion USD, up 14.4% (up 46.7 billion USD), while imports amounted to 345.62 billion USD, up 16.4% (up 48.62 billion USD).
Vietnam’s trade balance in goods for the first 11 months of 2024 saw a surplus of 24.31 billion USD, 7.3% lower than the surplus of 26.24 billion USD recorded during the same period last year.
Regarding state budget revenue, the General Department of Customs reported that the revenue exceeded the assigned target. Specifically, the state budget revenue from import and export activities in November 2024 was 37.288 trillion VND (a 5.5% decrease compared to the previous month), contributing to a total state budget revenue of 384.719 trillion VND for the first 11 months of 2024, reaching 102.6% of the target and marking an increase of 14.8% compared to the same period last year.
