Of the awards, the Vietnamese team secured one Champion title, four First Runner-up awards, three Second Runner-up awards, 42 gold medals, 83 silver medals, 70 bronze medals and two Merit Awards.
Viet Nam’s awarded students represented 18 provinces and centrally governed cities. Ha Noi recorded the largest number of award winners with 105 students, followed by Thanh Hoa with 20, Ho Chi Minh City with 15 and Tuyen Quang with 14. Viet Nam fielded one of the largest delegations at the AIMO 2026 International Final.
In 2025, Viet Nam sent 22 contestants to the AIMO International Final in Tokyo, Japan. All 22 students won awards, including one Champion title, 10 gold medals, seven silver medals and four bronze medals.
Compared with 2025, the number of Vietnamese award winners increased by 183 students this year. The team won 32 more gold medals, 76 more silver medals and 66 more bronze medals. The results reflect significant progress in both the scale of participation and the performance of the Vietnamese delegation at the international AIMO competition.
The AIMO 2026 International Final was held in Ha Noi from August 2 to 5. The competition attracted around 1,300 contestants from 22 countries and territories. The official examination took place on August 2 at Ngoi Sao Hoang Mai School, while the award ceremony was held on August 4 at the National Convention Centre in Ha Noi.
Among the 22 participating countries and territories, the 10 largest delegations came from Brazil, Canada, China, Hong Kong (China), Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Uzbekistan and Viet Nam.
Through exchanges among students, parents and teachers from the 22 participating countries and territories, the event helped promote cultural understanding, strengthen friendship, and enhance young people's confidence, foreign language communication skills and international outlook.
During their stay, international delegations had the opportunity to explore Ha Noi's history, culture, cuisine and daily life, as well as visit a number of destinations across Viet Nam.
