The Beauty of Vietnamese People show was a highlight of the Folk Music and Traditional Costume Performance Festival held in Da Lat from November 8-9, as part of the 2014 Central Highlands-Da Lat National Tourism Year.
More than 100 traditional costumes for rituals, weddings, festivals and daily life were presented at the event. The elegant clothes of Kinh people, the colourful wears of people in the Northeastern and Northwestern regions, the simple patterns from ethnic groups in the Central Highlands region, the sparkling decorations of Khmer people in the South, the áo tứ thân (4-part dresses) of the Red River Delta, and the Southern women's áo bà ba (silk pajamas), made up a vivid picture of diverse cultural characteristics of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups.
A range of activities, including street carnivals, trekking on Lang Biang Mountain, and tree planting, were also held during the festival.
