* Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak signed in Riyadh on Monday an agreement on mutual visa exemption for citizens of both countries, according to a statement released by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

* Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides said on Monday that Cyprus aims to strengthen the European Union's (EU) strategic autonomy and deepen the bloc's engagement with neighboring regions during its upcoming rotating presidency of the Council of the EU.

* At the inauguration ceremony on Tuesday of the 22nd Peaceful Unification Advisory Council, Republic of Korean President Lee Jae Myung proposed restoring communication channels with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), according to the presidential office.

* Russian President Vladimir Putin has been briefed on Russian forces' capture of Krasnoarmeysk in the Donetsk region and Volchansk in the Kharkov region, the Kremlin said in a statement on Monday.

* The Kremlin said Tuesday the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. presidential special envoy Steve Witkoff in Moscow will be a key step toward a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine crisis.
