Ukraine-U.S. talks in Geneva concluded and preparations are underway for the next round of negotiations, Ukraine's chief negotiator Rustem Umerov said Thursday evening in a post on X.

* Denmark will hold a parliamentary election on March 24, Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen announced on Thursday. The vote will determine the makeup of the 179-member parliament, which includes seats representing Greenland and the Faroe Islands.

* UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is following with concern cross-border clashes between Afghanistan and Pakistan, his spokesperson said Thursday.

* Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Friday morning that the country's armed forces possess the full capability to crush any aggressive ambitions and any act of belligerence will be responded to decisively, according to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office.

* Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Afghan government, posted on his X account early Friday that the Pakistani military conducted airstrikes in parts of Kabul, southern Kandahar, and eastern Paktia province. He said no civilian casualties were reported.

* The Iranian and U.S. delegations demonstrated "unprecedented openness to new and creative ideas and solutions" in the latest round of indirect nuclear talks on Thursday, according to an Omani Foreign Ministry statement on social media platform X.

* Ukraine is reinforcing its state border with Belarus and strengthening its defense capabilities in the north, State Border Guard Service spokesman Andrii Demchenko said on Thursday.
